On Lake Balaton – taking into account the weather of continental Europe – the period from the end of April until the beginning of October is considered to be the sailing season.

This is 31 weeks.

Of course early spring or late autumn sailing is very different  from sailing in summer or mid-summer.

• If you want sailing full of sporting challenges then you should choose the spring or autumn weeks with their variable weather and occasional strong winds.
• If you are a sun-lover and would like to sunbathe and swim while sailing, you should choose the warm summer season.

However, you must always be prepared for surprises, as a  windy or stormy day can  be experienced even in the summer season. At the same time there may be glorious sunny weather in spring and autumn as well.
